Carrington Middle 8th Grade ELA

The 8th grade ELA teachers believe that developing and growing a student's vocabulary is critical to academic success. This year we will be focusing on prefixes, roots and suffixes. Students will be given eight new vocabulary words on Monday and will be given a comprehension quiz the following Friday.

Students can earn points back on missed questions if they turn the graded quiz and an attached sheet of notebook paper where they use the missed word in an original, context rich, sentence, proving they now understand the meaning of the word. The better the sentence, the more points they gain back (up to half credit).
